Imported flooring must be more strictly "identity"

In today's flooring market, many so-called solid wood floors are not actually made of solid wood, and the substrates of laminate floors often fall short of their claims. The issue of unclear product labeling has long been a problem in the industry. Recently, we visited several major flooring retailers to find out whether material details are clearly presented during the sales process, whether a material list is included in the contract, and whether each floor comes with a clear "ID card." When it comes to solid wood flooring, transparency about the wood source and environmental standards is crucial. According to an insider in the industry, consumers should pay close attention to the wood brand, supply chain, and whether the product meets the E1 standard and 10-ring certification. These factors can greatly impact both quality and safety. In the case of solid wood flooring, the material list provided by reputable brands tends to be more detailed. After visiting stores like Red Star Macalline and Jimei Furniture, we found that more established brands now include specific material information in their sales contracts. The local Trade and Industry Bureau has even suggested that the material composition of solid wood flooring should be clearly marked on price tags. Additionally, companies often stamp the contract to guarantee the authenticity of the materials. Imported flooring requires even stricter control over its "identity." Consumers are particularly concerned about where the materials come from. During our visit to high-end home stores, we noticed that each brand clearly lists the origin, main material, and price on their product signs—imported products are no exception. According to an industry source, although imported flooring currently doesn’t always come with a formal material attachment, the price tag usually includes the material type and country of origin. Contracts also typically specify the flooring details. Many branded shopping guides go a step further by clearly stating which parts of the product are imported and which are locally sourced. “Stores are proactive in checking for customers,” the source added, “because flooring materials directly affect people’s health and living comfort. Clear material information is essentially a form of quality assurance.”
