Imported flooring must be more strictly "identity"

In today’s flooring market, many so-called solid wood floors are not actually made of solid wood, and some laminate flooring substrates also fail to meet the expected standards. The issue of unclear product labeling has long been a concern among consumers. Recently, we visited several major flooring stores to investigate whether material details are clearly stated during the sales process, if a material list is attached to the contract, and whether each floor comes with a clear “ID card.” When purchasing solid wood flooring, it's essential to know the origin of the wood and its environmental compliance. According to an industry insider, consumers should pay attention to the wood brand, supply chain, and whether it meets the E1 standard or carries the 10-ring certification. These factors are key indicators of quality and safety. In the case of solid wood flooring, the material list provided in contracts is usually more detailed. After visiting stores like Red Star Macalline and Jimei Furniture, we found that well-established brands now offer more transparent information to customers. The local Trade and Industry Bureau has even recommended that the material composition be clearly marked on price tags. Additionally, companies often stamp the contract to guarantee the authenticity of the materials. Imported flooring requires stricter control over its “identity.” Consumers are especially concerned about where the materials come from. During our visit to high-end home stores, we noticed that each brand clearly lists the origin, main material, and price on their floor signs, including imported products. According to an industry source, although there isn’t yet a formal material attachment for imported flooring, the price tag typically includes the material type and country of origin. Contracts also specify this information. Many brand guides will even clarify which parts of the product are made from imported materials and which are domestic. Stores often take the initiative to verify these details for customers, as flooring materials directly impact people’s health and living experience. Clear material identification is, therefore, a crucial part of ensuring product quality.
