On the morning of December 6, the second member meeting of the Fourth Qingdao Furniture Association was held grandly at the Qingdao Ocean Hotel. Over 100 attendees participated in the event, representing a wide range of industry stakeholders. The Executive Chairman and Secretary-General of the association, Shan Qingchuan, delivered the 2013 annual work report and outlined the 2014 work plan on behalf of the Secretariat. This session marked an important step in the association’s development, as new vice presidents, executive directors, and director units were elected and officially approved. Certificates were also awarded to the newly appointed director units.
The conference was chaired by Xu Baochuan, Deputy Secretary-General of the association. In his address, Shan Qingchuan highlighted the achievements of the association in 2013, including active participation in social welfare initiatives, expansion of membership, and conducting in-depth inspections to guide enterprise development. The establishment of five professional committees enabled the association to organize various events such as meetings, forums, exhibitions, and overseas visits. Additionally, the association actively supported corporate activities, promoted information exchange through its website, and provided services for government procurement. These efforts were well-received by member companies, with the association successfully passing an industry evaluation in September.
In his 2014 work plan, Shan Qingchuan laid out 12 key strategies aimed at strengthening the association’s role in the furniture industry. Following the report, Qi Yong announced the updated list of council members, which was unanimously approved by the attendees. Several companies were selected as vice chairman units, executive directors, and governing units, reflecting the growing diversity and strength of the association’s membership.
After the voting, Chairman Yin Zhaokun, along with Secretary-General Shan Qingchuan, presented honorary bronze medals and certificates to the directors of six special committees, including representatives from Yimu Group, Qingdao Jiancheng Weiye Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and others. This recognition celebrated their contributions to the industry.
During the interactive session, several industry leaders shared their insights. Yin Zhaokun, General Manager of Yimu Group, Dai Bing from Beiyuan Yinghui, Zhang Yonglai of Huayi IKEA, Qi Yong of Yufeng Hantang, and Wang Baolin of Yuwang Bed Industry all emphasized the importance of market positioning, innovation, brand building, and team development. Their discussions highlighted successful strategies, such as Beiyuan Yinghui’s high-value positioning, Yimu Group’s “altruistic†culture, and Huayi IKEA’s people-centric approach, which resonated strongly with the audience.
In his closing remarks, Chairman Yin Zhaokun encouraged enterprise leaders to enhance communication, transform theoretical knowledge into practical strategies, and improve overall industry standards in areas such as management, technology, product development, and marketing.
