In response to the recent impacts of anti-dumping and countervailing "double-reverse" investigations in Europe and the U.S., Yuhuan's photovoltaic (PV) enterprises are actively innovating by developing new products and exploring emerging markets. These strategies aim to mitigate risks through product and market diversification, effectively sharing the potential threats posed by the mainstream market.
A few days ago, I visited Zhejiang Beilide Energy Technology Co., Ltd., the largest photovoltaic enterprise in Yuhuan. Despite the challenges, the production lines were bustling with activity as workers meticulously assembled different types of crystalline silicon photovoltaic modules. According to Wang Huande, the general manager of the company, "Given the competitive landscape in Europe during the first half of this year, we began focusing on emerging markets early on to broaden our sales channels. Last year, Europe accounted for over 60% of our sales. However, thanks to our efforts in developing new markets in the first half of this year, the European market now represents only about 30% of our total sales."
To address these risks, the company has invested heavily in attending international exhibitions, building an online sales platform, and expanding into more than 30 countries, including South America, Southeast Asia, and Africa. These efforts have successfully diverted over 30% of their reliance on the European and American markets. From January to September this year, the company's sales reached 120 million yuan, representing an 80% increase compared to the same period last year. Notably, more than 50% of this growth can be attributed to the newly established emerging markets.
Despite maintaining a 30% market share in Europe, Wang Huande emphasized that the company has joined forces with 133 other PV enterprises nationwide to hire legal experts and actively respond to the European Commission's "double-reverse" investigation. He expressed confidence in further diversifying into emerging markets to balance out the risks associated with the dominant markets.
