Growing up in rural Minnesota, Steven Cooper developed a deep affection for building and design during weekend visits to the local lumberyard with his father. His passion for crafting spaces blossomed early—by the age of 14, he was already assisting his father, Neil, a skilled custom homebuilder, with both construction and managing finances.
Today, Steven leads Cooper Pacific Kitchens as its Principal Designer and Owner. Nestled within the expansive Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, California, the studio is renowned for its sophisticated fusion of styles—combining elements of tradition, modernity, and a touch of drama. Drawing clientele predominantly from Los Angeles and its environs, including areas like Beverly Hills and Bel Air, the firm’s projects span across North America, from the islands of Hawaii to bustling New York City. Clients range from influential figures in business and entertainment to those in medicine, each seeking a bespoke living space that mirrors their personal lifestyle.
In 1984, the Coopers relocated to California where Neil established Cooper Pacific Kitchens in the Pacific Design Center. When Steven joined the family business in 1986, initially handling administration and finance, he soon transitioned into design. Collaborating closely with his father, he honed his creative talents and brought fresh perspectives to the table. After Neil retired, Steven took full reins, assembling a team of gifted designers and engineers who share his dedication to meticulous craftsmanship and innovative design.
For Steven, exceptional design always begins with understanding the client’s aspirations. "Our mission is to create unique spaces that reflect each client’s identity and lifestyle," he explains. Additionally, the next generation has joined the fold: Brittanie, Steven’s daughter, manages logistics, while his wife, Giselle, oversees marketing and social media efforts.
