Abstract Recently, the Zhengzhou Sanmao Research Institute conducted a two-day internal audit of its quality, environmental, and occupational health and safety management systems. The primary objective of this audit was to evaluate whether the institute's QMS, EMS, and OHSAS systems meet the established audit criteria. It also aimed to ensure that all requirements are effectively implemented, maintained, and continuously improved. This process is essential for laying a strong foundation for the successful certification of the environmental and occupational health and safety management system this year.
To support the audit, the institute invited consultants from Huaxin Technology Inspection Co., Ltd., who specialize in Q/E/O management systems. These experts provided guidance throughout the audit process. During the internal audit, the auditors were organized into three teams, each responsible for reviewing different departments across the institute. They also examined past internal and external audit findings from 2011 and 2012 to prevent any recurrence of similar issues. In addition to identifying gaps, the consultants helped uncover potential problems within the environmental and occupational health and safety management systems.
The consulting team raised several practical concerns regarding the current state of the Sanmao Institute, particularly highlighting areas that needed improvement. They offered constructive feedback on the implementation and operation of the environmental and occupational health and safety management system. Following the audit, the Quality Work Department will compile all the issues identified by the consultants and the audit teams. Based on these findings, specific corrective actions will be proposed, and an internal audit rectification meeting is scheduled for March 28. At this meeting, detailed plans for addressing the existing issues will be discussed and finalized. This step-by-step approach ensures that the institute remains committed to continuous improvement and compliance with international standards.
