According to data released on September 10 by the General Administration of Customs of China, China exported 1.25 million tons of coal in August, an increase of 37.4% from the 910,000 tons in July and a decrease of 26.5% from the 1.7 million tons in the same period of last year.
From January to August, coal exports totaled 10.91 million tons, a decrease of 17.5% from the same period of last year.
Customs data also showed that exports of coke and semi-coke were 250,000 tons in August, an increase of 38.9% from the previous month's 180,000 tons, and an increase of 19.0% from the 210,000 tons in the same period of last year. From January to August, the total exports of coke and semi-coke were 2.87 million tons, an increase of 31.0% year-on-year.
