In today's society, when people consider a product, not only look at his price/performance ratio, quality, etc., but also look at a service before and after the sale. Driven by the endowment of cheap labor and other factors, China has become a “world factory” and a global manufacturing power.

Since the reform and opening up, China has become a "world factory" and a global manufacturing powerhouse under the impetus of low-cost labor and other factors. According to China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China's industry accounted for 37% of GDP in 2013, providing 25% of the country's jobs. The proportion of China's manufacturing industry in the world is about 20%.

However, in the face of the rapidly changing domestic and international economic situation, China's manufacturing industry is also facing unprecedented challenges: on the one hand, the land, manpower, resources, and other dividends that support China's manufacturing in the past are gradually disappearing; on the other hand, since the financial crisis, The strategic significance of the real economy has once again become prominent. The major developed countries such as the United States and Germany have implemented the “re-industrialization” strategy of reviving the manufacturing industry as the core, cultivating and developing high-end manufacturing industries to seize the new round of manufacturing highs.

In the face of challenges, how does China Manufacturing compete with international high-end manufacturing? With this question in mind, the author participated in the interview of the economic situation of the traditional media legal person microblog organized by the National Internet Information Office, “visiting from the enterprise”, and visited leading enterprises in Beijing, Guangdong, Chongqing, Shaanxi, Gansu and other provinces. In the interview, we learned that China's manufacturing industry is still competitive globally, but it also feels the urgency of the transformation and upgrading of traditional manufacturing.

On May 10 this year, General Secretary Xi Jinping emphasized during the inspection in Henan that it would promote the transformation of Chinese manufacturing to China, the transformation of China's speed to China's quality, and the transformation of Chinese products to Chinese brands. The party and the country’s top leaders organically combine the familiar and exciting words of “manufacturing” and “creation”, “speed” and “quality”, “product” and “brand”, the height of their position, The thickness of the connotation and the dimension of expansion are self-evident, and have a strong guiding significance for China's traditional manufacturing power.

How to achieve "three transformations"? The author believes that there are four key points:

First of all, we need to pay attention to promoting the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries. Promote the traditional industry from processing and manufacturing links to research and development, design, patents, financing, investment, brand building, business model, logistics system, promote the high-end development of manufacturing to the industrial chain, and promote the processing trade to achieve low added value to high added value development of.

Second, more emphasis needs to be placed on nurturing and developing strategic emerging industries. Internet, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, 3D printing, optoelectronics and other breakthroughs and integration will promote the rise of new industries, new formats and new models. Take the Donghu New Technology Development Zone, which is known as the “China Optics Valley” as an example, its fiber optic cable production scale ranks first in the world, the domestic market share of fiber optic cable exceeds 50%, and the international market share reaches 25%. In 2013, the total revenue of high-tech enterprises reached 651.7 billion yuan. Since 2001, it has basically maintained an average annual growth rate of 30%. It has formed an emerging industry-photonics industry as the leading factor, and energy, environmental protection, bioengineering and new medicines are competing. The pattern of development.

Third, attach importance to and cultivate independent innovation of enterprises, promote enterprises to increase investment in research and development, and establish and improve the technological innovation system with enterprises as the mainstay. Taking Gree air-conditioning as an example, in recent years, Gree Electric has placed technology research and development and product innovation at the highest strategic position, with an annual investment of more than 4 billion yuan. More than 10,000 national patents and 12 international leading technologies have forged a large aircraft carrier with an annual revenue of over 120 billion yuan and entered more than 100 countries and regions around the world. Its air-conditioning production and sales jumped to the top in the world.

Fourth, enhance brand value and promote brand internationalization. In the survey, we found that many products in China are quite mature, and their share in the international market is also increasing year by year. However, compared with the international big names, the Chinese manufacturing brand is not enough. It is largely due to the gap in consumer psychology and brand culture in the context of internationalization. For more than 30 years, many Chinese companies have gone through the process of hand workshops, quality first, domestic creation, capital operation, etc. At this time, it is particularly urgent to enhance brand value, especially brand internationalization.
