Prevention and treatment of celery physiological diseases

Heartburn: It occurs less frequently in the early stage of growth. It usually occurs when the plant grows to 11 to 12 leaves. The cause of the disease is mainly caused by calcium deficiency. Control method: cultivated celery is prone to heartburn, should start from management, to achieve appropriate temperature and humidity, apply lime to acidic soil, adjust it to neutral, spray 0.5 % calcium nitrate solution at the beginning of the disease .

Hollow: Hollow is a physiological aging phenomenon that occurs mostly on sandy soil and generally occurs in the middle and late stages of plant growth. In addition, celery is also prone to hollowness when the soil is dry. Control method: Non-sand soil should be selected for planting. Before planting, apply the decomposed organic fertilizer and timely topdressing. When the leaf color is shallow and the fertilizer is removed, 0.1 % urea aqueous solution can be sprayed 2 to 3 times.

Petiole cracking: Cause of disease: Boron deficiency in soil; under low temperature and drought conditions, plant growth is hindered. Control method: Apply enough fully decomposed organic fertilizer, apply 1 kg of borax per acre , mix well with organic fertilizer; spray 0.1 % to 0.3 % of borax solution on the foliage , and pay attention to watering during management.
