Recently, the multifunctional underwater intelligent inspection robot developed by the Institute of Optics and Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences passed the expert group's appraisal. The expert group believes that each performance index of the robot has reached the expected goal, and it has reached the domestic leading level in key technologies such as underwater dynamic sealing technology, underwater attitude detection, multi-sensor information fusion, image recognition, and underwater measurement.
The underwater intelligent inspection robot is under the strong support of the “Light of the West†fund of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the special funds of the institute. The four-room research team of the Institute of Optoelectronics has completed two years. Different from other underwater intelligent robots, the intelligent inspection robot developed by Optoelectronics can perform nuclear underwater detection, embankment inspection, pipeline inspection, and foreign object underwater salvage in a high-radiation underwater environment. At present, the four rooms of the Institute of Optoelectronics have provided customized equipment for Qinshan Nuclear Power Co., Ltd., China Nuclear Power Design and Research Institute, Guangdong Nuclear Power Group and many other units. The application has been well received by users.
The successful development of underwater intelligent inspection robots has filled the gaps of domestic nuclear intelligent robots, and has accumulated rich pre-research and development experience for the National 973 Program “Basic Science Issues for Nuclear Power Plant Emergency Relief Robots†undertaken by the National Photovoltaic Institute in 2013.
