Laser cutting machine optical components routine maintenance

Daily maintenance of optical components of laser cutting machines Once the optical components of laser cutting machines are contaminated or even stuck with small particles of cutting products, cleaning them is an extremely important and often overlooked problem. Some cleaning points are listed below:

(1) Cleaning of the lens: bend the lens paper into a few folds, soak it with a few drops of analytical pure acetone; gently wipe the lens surface with the dampened lens paper, taking care not to press the lens with your fingers; repeat several times until the lens The surface is clean, free of dirt and residual traces on the mirror surface; blow dry with dry air; if necessary, roll the lens paper wet with a few drops of acetone into a rod and gently scrub the surface of the lens to remove heavy stains.

It should be noted that acetone easily absorbs moisture and moisture from the air and contaminates the acetone itself. Therefore, to close the acetone bottle, never return the acetone remaining after washing to a new acetone bottle.

(2) Cleaning of the mirror lens: remove the lens from the frame; face up, place the lens paper on the mirror surface; drop a few drops of acetone on the lens paper, and gently pull the lens paper over the mirror; repeat the above process, Until the mirror is clean, no stains and residual stains remain on the mirror; then the lens is placed in the mirror mount.

If a molybdenum mirror is used as the mirror, it can be used directly after polishing because it cannot be plated, so it can be cleaned with water (soap or detergent-containing water). However, other coated lenses on the surface cannot be washed with water because many coatings dissolve in water and the lens will be destroyed.

Most of the optical components such as lenses and prisms are made of optical glass. Their optical surfaces are carefully ground and polished, and some or more layers of film are also plated. The optical properties (such as refractive index, reflectivity, transmittance, etc.) of these components or their materials have certain requirements, and their mechanical and chemical properties may be poor. If used and maintained improperly, optical properties may be degraded. Damage is scrapped. Common causes of damage are breakage, abrasion, scratches, fouling, mold, corrosion, etc.
