Shanghai will add new electronic** to prevent serious traffic accidents

On the morning of October 19, the Shanghai Road Traffic Safety Joint Meeting convened an emergency meeting to prevent major and severe road traffic accidents. The meeting informed the recent road traffic accidents in the country and the city. The meeting called for the addition of “e-police” to key road sections that are prone to serious traffic violations such as speeding and overloading. It also made targeted adjustments to the deployment of road police services, strengthened on-site law enforcement inspections, and discovered and investigated together.

At the meeting, the relevant departments of the city will take comprehensive measures to comprehensively investigate and rectify the hidden dangers of various types of traffic accidents in light of the shortcomings and problems exposed in the recent “9.14” and “10.16” accidents in Shanghai.

It was learned from the meeting that the “9-14” accident was caused by the speeding of the bus and the improper handling of the driver, which caused the vehicle to lose control and roll over, resulting in 12 accidents and 12 injuries. The “10.16” accident was due to the drunk driving of one of the drivers, which caused the two vehicles to collide and the tragedy of 5 dead and 2 injured.

According to statistics, as of October 18 this year, a total of 1,599 road accidents occurred in Shanghai, 710 people were killed and 1,361 were injured, a year-on-year decrease of 7%, 9.2%, and 9% respectively. There were 6 deaths and 3 accidents and 30 deaths, a decrease of 4 cases and 5 persons.
