Cangzhou Haigu Safety Protection Technology Co., Ltd. is a modern safety equipment company that integrates research, design, manufacturing, and sales. Our air respirators have gained widespread recognition in the respiratory protection industry for their reliability and performance. Many of our customers frequently reach out to our sales team asking about the proper maintenance and cleaning procedures for these critical devices.
Proper care and maintenance are essential for ensuring the longevity and effectiveness of your air respirator. If not maintained correctly, the performance of the equipment can be compromised, which could put users at risk. To help you keep your air respirator in top condition, here's a detailed guide on how to maintain it properly and safely.
1. **Storage**: Always store the respirator in a clean, dry, and well-ventilated area. Avoid places where it might be exposed to direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, or physical damage like impacts, scratches, or compression. The mask should never be squeezed or bent.
2. **Pre-Use Inspection**: Before each use, conduct a thorough visual inspection. Check the gas cylinder for any signs of damage, ensure the pressure is sufficient, inspect the air valve, and make sure the mask is clean and properly disinfected.
3. **Disinfection**: Clean the face mask using warm water (up to 43°C) and a mild, neutral soap or detergent. Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Use a sponge dipped in medical alcohol to disinfect the mask, then rinse again with drinking water. For positive pressure oxygen respirators, first rinse with a gentle stream of water, shake off excess moisture, and dry with a soft cloth. Alternatively, you can use clean, dry air at less than 0.2 MPa to gently blow out remaining moisture. Never use regular compressed air or air containing oil or moisture.
4. **Gas Cylinder Pressure**: Do not completely empty the gas cylinder. Leave a residual pressure of at least 0.05 MPa. When removing the pressure relief valve for maintenance, reinstallation must be followed by an airtightness test at 28–30 MPa.
5. **Cylinder Filling**: Only trained professionals should fill the gas cylinders following strict operating procedures. Unauthorized personnel should not attempt to disassemble or handle the respirator to prevent damage or contamination.
6. **Inspection and Replacement**: If cracks appear in the air supply hose, replace it immediately. Gas cylinders should only be used within their valid service period as marked on the nameplate. A hydrostatic test must be conducted every three years, and the cylinder must pass the test before being used again.
7. **Air Valve Cleaning**: Use a soft cloth or sponge to wipe the outer surface of the air valve. Inspect the internal components through the air outlet. If dirty, have a qualified technician clean it.
8. **Other Components**: For parts that cannot be submerged in water, use a damp sponge or soft cloth to gently clean them.
9. **Avoid Grease Contact**: Never allow the respirator to come into contact with oil or grease, as this can damage the rubber and sealing components.
It’s important to change cleaning agents regularly, as prolonged exposure can cause aging of the respirator parts. Using professional-grade cleaning and disinfecting solutions is highly recommended to maintain the integrity and performance of your equipment.
By following these steps, you can ensure that your air respirator remains safe, functional, and ready for use whenever needed. Regular maintenance not only extends the life of the equipment but also protects the health and safety of the user.
