Home textile bedding fabric and printing and dyeing knowledge

With the rise in living standards, consumers are now more aware of the diversity in textile materials. As a knowledgeable source on home textiles, I aim to provide basic information about bedding fabrics, printing, and dyeing to help people make better purchasing decisions. Understanding these basics can lead to choosing the ideal products that suit their needs. Home textiles typically use natural fibers like cotton, which is popular for its softness and breathability. In recent years, linen has gained popularity due to its durability and eco-friendly nature. Additionally, fibers such as bamboo, soy, and eco-fibers are becoming more common. These natural materials are not only environmentally friendly but also offer a pleasant touch and good performance. However, they tend to be more expensive due to higher production costs. On the other hand, synthetic fibers like polyester, spandex, acrylic, and Tencel are known for their moisture absorption, soft feel, and low static electricity. They are more affordable, but the market is flooded with fake cotton products. To avoid this, always look for the label “100% Cotton” when buying bedding. Different weaving techniques can give the same material a completely different feel. For example, cotton fabrics can be woven in plain, twill, or satin styles. Plain weave is strong and durable, making it ideal for everyday use. Twill fabric offers a softer hand feel and is comfortable against the skin. Satin fabric is glossy, dense, and smooth, giving a luxurious look. Jacquard fabrics are more complex, combining intricate patterns with a three-dimensional texture, offering a high-quality appearance and feel. The visual appeal of fabrics also depends on the printing and dyeing methods used. Paint printing uses physical principles, resulting in vibrant colors, a 3D effect, and a slightly stiffer texture. Active printing, on the other hand, relies on chemical processes, producing soft, long-lasting colors that are safe and eco-friendly. There are two types of active printing: flat screen and rotary screen, each offering different design possibilities. At our company, we focus on innovation and advanced technology in home textiles. We have launched a series of "Photo" products that showcase cutting-edge printing techniques and modern design concepts. Recently, we introduced transfer printing combined with simulated silk fabrics into our bedding line. The new "Glossy World" collection uses a blend of 50% polyester and 50% pure cotton, offering the best of both worlds—smoothness and softness. Transfer printing allows for more detailed and delicate designs compared to traditional methods, while being non-polluting and safer for users.
