Large natural gas reserves found in desert areas of Rajasthan, India

According to "Gulf News" reported on October 20 in Jaipur, the state-owned Indian Oil Exploration Company (Oil India) recently discovered a huge oil and gas reservoir in Jaisalmer and Baghewala, which are located in the Thar desert region of Rajasthan state. The search for oil and natural gas in the Thar desert in the past few years has yielded fruitful results. Kane Energy, which discovered oil and gas in the Barmer area, has started commercial production of the Mangla field.

In 1988, Kane Energy first acquired exploration discoveries in the Tanot area, followed by the discovery of more than two gas fields by Indian oil exploration companies in Dandewala and Bagittiba.

According to Ram Lai Jat, the oil minister of Rajasthan, the Indian oil exploration company has discovered natural gas in Ramgarh, Jalawala, Gamnewala and Gulabwala in the desert areas of Rajasthan. Indian oil exploration companies are now trying to estimate the commercial exploitation value of these gas fields.

Jat said that in the Tanot-Dandewala and Bagittibba areas of the Jaisalmer Basin, natural gas reserves are estimated at 9.2 billion cubic meters, of which 6.5 billion cubic meters of natural gas is recoverable.
