A scientific team at the Institute of Zoology at the University of Kiel in Germany discovered that geckos use the fine hairs on their feet to climb walls. They used this principle to develop super-strength tape. They first made a silicone tape and then glued it together with a super strong adhesive tape. The adhesive performance was very good. An 8-inch-by-eight-inch adhesive tape was glued to the glass and could fully withstand the weight of an adult - see above Illustration.
This can be used repeatedly thousands of times, the adhesive on the tape will not fall off. What's more, this tape can be applied under water without leaving any adhesive residue.
