In terms of visual monitoring, the Forbidden City has installed more than 1,500 cameras. According to the monitoring needs, different cameras can monitor 360 degrees, 180 degrees and other different ranges. Once the system alarms, the camera will quickly track the alarm location, record and view the scene. Shan Yuxiang said that the basement of the Forbidden City is also equipped with camera monitoring equipment.

After the upgrade, the images recorded by the camera will be stored for a long time in case of a problem. Li Xiaocheng said that camera surveillance currently plays a role in confirming the dangers that have occurred on the scene. In the past, due to the obsolescence of the system, the relatively small number of cameras installed, and the problem of image clarity, there were certain problems. After updating the system, it would be of great help to quickly and accurately determine the situation in the central control room.

The Forbidden City closed for tourists for half a day
