Recently, it was learned from the National Development and Reform Commission that in April 2006, the National Development and Reform Commission and related departments launched a 1,000 enterprise energy-saving campaign with the goal of saving about 100 million tons of standard coal during the “11th Five-Year Plan” period. According to preliminary statistics, during the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period, thousands of companies have saved 150 million tons of standard coal.

Thousands of corporate energy-saving actions refer to the state’s energy-saving management of about 1,000 enterprises with an annual total energy consumption of 180,000 tons of standard coal or more, and their energy consumption accounts for half of industrial energy consumption and 1/3 of the country’s energy consumption.

The relevant person in charge of the National Development and Reform Commission stated that the energy conservation actions of 1,000 enterprises have achieved remarkable results, and the energy efficiency has been greatly improved. During the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period, the total energy consumption of alumina and the total energy consumption of ethylene production have declined by 30% during the “11th Five-Year Plan” period. Above, the comprehensive energy consumption per unit of crude oil processing and the comprehensive energy consumption of electrolytic aluminum have fallen by more than 10%, and coal consumption for power supply has dropped by nearly 10%.

It is understood that since the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period, the state has mainly deployed 1,000 energy-saving enterprises in an all-round way, carried out target responsibility assessments, corporate energy audits and preparation of energy-saving plans, implemented a report on energy use status, and actively carried out energy efficiency standards. Activities and the promotion of thousands of enterprises in energy-saving technological transformation, etc., so that thousands of companies exceeded the energy-saving task.
