Germany launches new composite fatigue test tool

LMS International and e-Xstream Engineering have a strategic partnership to develop a fatigue testing tool for random fiber-reinforced composites.

According to LMS and Xstream, until now, reliable, computational, and inexpensive simulation methods for evaluating the durability of composite materials have not been obtained, and it is very difficult to implement their digital design process. The combined LMS and electronic Xstream tools and services bridge the gap between bridge manufacturing simulation results and the prediction and improvement of composite fatigue.

“Precise predictions of the fatigue properties of composites require in-depth research on the fatigue, anisotropy, isomerism, and properties of composites,” said Dr. Roger Assaker, CEO of e-Xstream. The expertise and software capabilities will increase the accuracy and predictability of our common customer base."

These solutions will make their debut at the LMS European Automotive Conference in May 2011 in Munich, Germany.

LMS International provides mechatronics simulation software, test systems and engineering services for automotive, aerospace and other advanced manufacturing industries.

e-Xstream is a software and engineering services company that focuses on the multi-scale and structure of advanced composites. Its DIGIMAT nonlinear multi-scale materials and structural modeling platform is used in various industries.
